Just some random pictures I took on Sunday night
31st August 2008
Overcast with mild showers (Singapore)
Malaysia celebrates its 51st National Day today, even though I wasn't back home to see it through, I know Malaysians always take heart when Independence Day comes around, and I'm no exception to that. though I would love to see Malaysia make significant progress this time around. I have lingering doubts though. Sent Duncan to Suntec City as he is working there for the weekend as part of COMEX 2008, Singapore's Largest Annual IT Exhibition. After sending him, I managed to have a glimpse of Singapore's F1 street circuit, called the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Later, I was at the Whampoa Market all morning, scouring for meat and vegetables with mum. Signs of rain all morning, and eventually it did. Went home and slept the whole day, how redundant of me!
Sorta finally woke up at 5p.m. Had dinner which mum cooked, then took a drive to Suntec City via Orchard Road to pick up Duncan, and then have a look around the COMEX exhibition. Parking was an uphill task, cost $4.28 at Suntec Mall. COMEX exhibition was huge, 6 floors of non-stop technology products on display inculding Canon, Sony and Samsung among the brands on show. Was scouring for an external hard drive and Canon IS lens. Bad luck seem to hit me once again as I discovered my Canon lens cap was missing again! Was so angry and fustrated at myself, tried my kluck at asking the Canon guys whether they sold such caps or not, but received an emphatic "NO". So, was pretty much cursing myself all night after that, as I just bought a replacement cap that cost me RM68!. duncan was working for the Sony Walkman division, he somehow managed to persuade mum to buy him a new Sony Ericsson phone, and I sorta 'forced' mum to add a new "noise cancelling" earphones for me too, nett total was $316 spent!
Duncan managed to come out before 11.30. Took a slow drive downtown Singapore, then to Chinatown where the decorations for the upcoming Mooncake Festival were really a sight for sore eyes. you can't get this in Malaysia for sure, so much so for being multi-racial! Chinatown was really very well lit up, got home at around midnight, took away some 'mamak' food at the nearby coffee shop outside the condominum, and then stayed online until 5a.m almost! And thats how my Sunday went!
