A mother, a daughter, 3 possible fathers, and a trip down the aisle you'll never forget

Sunday 28th September 2008

Today was crazy man! Sunday classes as usual, accompanied by bad weather.. First slot was Commercial law, I was so excited about this class because its the first Commercial slot that I've not been late for in the new semester year! Sadly, I had an upset stomach all day, which meant my mood was disrupted all morning, but what the heck.. Next slot was at 11:45, Land Law.. Started off quite well but then I was falling asleep soon after..

Lunch hour at 1. Just the same thing for me, either I skipped lunch or I just went out and grab something to munch on.. Then Ishmael and I had the craziest of ideas.. We sorta came out with the stupid idea of riding on his bike and going to Food Republic. Since he was still fasting, I felt kinda bad for him to see me eating, but then he was all cool.. I love ya Ishmael!.. Then we were there at Food Republic, another crazy idea came out from him! Skip next 2 classes, Tort and Trust, to watch movie at The Pavillion's renowned GSC cinema... I wasn't to keen on the idea, as we were scrolling the movie listing and found there were no movies that were appropriate with our time, so we decided to pass, headed off to the car park.. We slotted the ticket in, barrier came up, and then it was RAINING! What the hell! We turned back into the car park, and decided to watch whatever movie that was on.. He'd been telling me since the night before on how good Mamma Mia! was, I was dying to watch it, but I wanted to preserve that one for me and Alice, I wanted to take her there as it would certainly do a lot to help me in my quest!

I was very reluctant to watch Mamma Mia! this day itself, but Ish persuaded me too, because he was dying to go in for a 2nd time. He has already watched it for 3 times as we speak, and convinced me that I would come back for the 2nd time to watch with her, and so I agreed..

And the musical.. Simply the best musical I've ever watched, beats Enchanted hands down! You don't have to be an ABBA fan to experience the greatness of it, the storyline might lose out to some other romantic flicks, but the singing part and ending just makes you wanna watch it over and over again... The movies opens with a the main character's rendition of "I Have A Dream" by Amanda Seyfried, which so happens to be my favorite ABBA song, guess it all just happened straight away, and I was hooked! Other well known songs from ABBA were equally impressive, such as "Dancing Queen", "Take A Chance On Me", and my personal favorite from the whole musical movi, which was "Slipping Through My Fingers". I've watched it once now, and I intend to watch it for at least another 2 times, and hopefully the next one is with Alice!

This is a musical I would definitely recommend to everybody, regardless off whether you're an ABBA fan or not, you'd be truly touched by the whole movie.. At the end of it, you could feel the urgency of it, being a major blockbuster.. Everyone's been saying The Dark Knight has been the movie of the year, even I said that a couple of months before, but after today, I think Batman has some serious competition to deal with. I'd say its better than The Dark Knight, simply because the moment the final words start coming up, you begin to think what a great musical that was, the cast, the plot, and the whole storyline, it just fits perfectly, whereas for The Dark Knight, after finishing it, you begin to wonder what just happened, no doubt its an incredible movie, but it takes you time to digest what just happened back then. Mamma Mia! is simply the perfect movie date for anyone, boys and girls, its different to other musicals, I can't wait for the Broadway Musical to arrive on our shores this December
