Cloudy
A new week begins, and so does a new month! Took a bus (139) ride to Sim Lim Square to scout around for a new lens cap, and eventually found one at a hefty price of $35! Then I had some nasi lemak at a coffee shop nearby. Then I hopped onto (65) and took a short route to Orchard Road, where I watched Wall-E at Lido Theatre, Shaw House. The theatre was really one of a kind. It had pictures of really old movie posters on the walls, with celebrity autographs on it. Some movies included Robin Hood starring Kevin Costner, The Godfather, and many many more old movie releases. Duncan was watching Wall-E too, but his show time was 30 mins earlier
I really don't know how to describe Wall-E. From what I see and hear, many reviews are saying it is as good as The Dark Knight. But really, maybe because it was me having not enough sleep the night before, for once in a movie I almost fell asleep. The theatre seats really suck man, it felt as if I was gonna fall off from my seat anytime. And the air condition wasn't working too well, not to mention the sound was nothing to shout about, and there was the tall pillar almost blocking my view and the screen. To top it all off, this is probably my worst ever movie I have ever seen in a cinema, not that the movie was bad, but the conditions of the cinema really took the gloss off everything. Wall-E was really cute and funny, everyone was laughing and smiling at its antics really. story line wise, its a different animation from the rest, I somehow thought that Wall-E could be as good as last year's Ratatouille, but I was utterly disappointed. i should have watched it at Cathay Cineplex Orchard instead, but the show time was at 1645, whereas Lido was at 1615, earlier and more suitable for me. Altogether, the movie was rather good, rating wise, I would give 7/10, nothing spectacular really, and it was rather cheap at $7 a ticket.
And the usual thing that I dreaded finally came. I knew this was coming all along, mum fell sick with a mild fever again, could really see the symptoms coming since morning, and my worst fears were confirmed when Duncan called me after the movie from home as I was on my way back. Was at Borders browsing through some Magazines on photography as I always do after Wall-E finished. Stayed home all night, scrapped plans to go out and shoot the city at night:(. Tomorrow then!
